Knitting for charity.

* Just a reminder that next Thursday morning, 6th June, we have our AGM followed by Pot Luck Lunch.

As a group we raise money for a different charity every year - this time we chose Fibromyalgia Support NI - and at the AGM next week we'll hear how much money we have raised from our various activities throughout the year.

Two of our ladies have also been knitting for their chosen charities. These teddies were on show at our recent exhibition and now they're off on a flight all the way to Malawi.

Maureen's knitted teddies.

Yesterday there was a variety of knitted dolls on the table to raise money for 'Save The Children'.

Laura's knitted dolls.

There's an exhibition of textile work from Lecora opening tomorrow at the City Hall.

Birds, bees and butterflies.

Where do you start? As I said in my previous post -  127 items in the catalogue and more besides!

Every year Anna does a lovely flower arrangement for our exhibition.
This time she's chosen white roses and lilies. I think she's gradually been removing the lilies as she was concerned that their scent was becoming quite overpowering!

This is our group exhibit of birds, bees and butterflies. One of our members brought in a branch to display them all.

I'm not sure who made each item and I'm guessing what they're made from.
I'll start with this lovely beaded  butterfly.

This one looks like it's been made from Lutradur.

Metal, cut from the Big Shot maybe?

A nice fabric bird.

Recognise this bird anyone? The Duster bird.

Needle-felted balls!

A beaded butterfly on felt.

A knitted butterfly.

A metal cut-out.

A bird made from an old driving glove.

Mobile fabric birds.

A dragonfly made from Friendly Plastic and wire.

  A wool embroidered butterfly.

A large metal cut-out.

A felt caterpillar.

A fabric bird.

A machine embroidered and beaded butterfly.
